Hoya carnosa Tricolor prefers bright indirect light, moderate watering (let the soil dry out between waterings) and a well-draining substrate. Ideal temperatures range from 18–28°C. High humidity (50–70%) promotes vigorous growth.
Loss of variegation is usually caused by insufficient light. Move the plant to a spot with more bright indirect light. New leaves should return to their characteristic variegated pattern if they receive enough light.
Hoya carnosa Tricolor can bloom during the warm season, producing clusters of waxy, light pink, sweetly scented flowers. The plant needs to be mature (at least 2–3 years) and receive sufficient light to bloom.
Hoya carnosa is considered non-toxic to cats and dogs. However, ingesting leaves may cause mild digestive discomfort. It is advisable to keep the plant away from curious pets.
Propagation is done through stem cuttings with at least one node and a leaf. Place the cuttings in water or moist perlite. Roots appear in 2–4 weeks, after which you can transplant into well-draining substrate.
