Phalaenopsis Little Kolibri Mix is a miniature orchid that proves the most beautiful things often come in small packages. This Kolibri collection offers delicate, colourful flowers in varying shades – from pure white to pink, purple, or bicolour – on slender stems that arch elegantly above compact green leaves. Perfect for small spaces, desks, or as a refined gift, this miniature phalaenopsis brings a burst of colour and elegance wherever it is placed.
The genus Phalaenopsis comprises approximately 70 species in the Orchidaceae family, originating from Southeast Asia, the Philippines, Australia, and Pacific islands. The name comes from Greek: “phalaina” (moth) and “opsis” (resemblance), as the flowers resemble moths in flight. The Kolibri series was developed in the Netherlands by specialist growers, aiming to create compact orchids that preserve all the beauty of full-sized phalaenopsis in a miniature format.
The flowers are the centrepiece of this orchid. Smaller than standard phalaenopsis blooms, they retain the same classic butterfly shape with fine, symmetrical petals. Being a MIX variant, the shade may vary – you’ll receive a special chromatic surprise, from pristine whites to delicate pinks, deep purples, or fascinating bicolour combinations.
The flowers can last for weeks or even months in good conditions, and after fading, the plant can rebloom from the same stem or a new one.
Phalaenopsis Little Kolibri has a compact habit with thick, fleshy leaves of 8–15 cm and slender flower stalks of 15–25 cm. As an epiphytic plant, the orchid prefers a special orchid substrate (pine bark), bright indirect light, temperatures of 18–25°C, and watering by submerging the pot in water once a week. Avoid water accumulation in the leaf rosette.
At Eufloria, every orchid is carefully selected from the finest Dutch growers. The Phalaenopsis Little Kolibri you receive will be a healthy, blooming plant, ready to bring a touch of exotic elegance to any corner of your home.

Phalaenopsis Little Kolibri prefers indirect light, watering once a week by soaking the pot in water for 15-20 min. Ideal temperature is 18-25°C. Fertilize with special orchid fertilizer.
Phalaenopsis orchid flowers can last 2-3 months with proper care. After flowers fall, cut the flower spike above the second node to encourage re-blooming.
For re-blooming, expose the orchid to lower nighttime temperatures (15-18°C) for several weeks. Ensure good indirect light and fertilize regularly. A new flower spike will appear in 2-3 months.
No, Phalaenopsis orchids are non-toxic to cats and dogs. They are one of the safest houseplants for homes with pets.
Phalaenopsis needs special orchid substrate based on pine bark, not regular soil. The substrate must allow root aeration and excellent drainage.
