🌍 Origins & Botanical History

Dracaena fragrans originates from tropical Africa, from Sierra Leone to Mozambique and Ethiopia. It belongs to the genus Dracaena in the Asparagaceae family. The name “fragrans” refers to the fragrant flowers the plant can produce in optimal conditions (rare indoors). The ‘Warneckei’ variety was named after the German horticulturist Warnecke and is one of the most popular variegated dracaenas in commerce.

🌿 Foliage – Elegant Stripes on Arching Leaves

The leaves are the main attraction. At 30–50 cm long and 4–5 cm wide, they feature longitudinal bands of cream-white and light green along the leaf margins, contrasting beautifully with the dark green centre.
