Neoregelia 'Fancy' – ornamental bromeliad with compact rosette and decorative foliage

General description

Neoregelia 'Fancy' is an ornamental bromeliad hybrid appreciated for its colorful leaves and compact appearance. The genus Neoregelia, native to South America, is known for its flat rosettes, with stiff leaves and a center that intensifies its shades when the plant enters the preparatory phase for flowering. 

The leaves of 'Fancy' are wide, arranged in a circular rosette, with color variations that can include tones of green, pink, red or purple, depending on light exposure. Like most neoregelia, the plant forms a natural central reservoir in which water is collected, providing it with the necessary humidity.

• Substrate: aerated, well-drained mixture, suitable for epiphytes (bark, perlite, fibrous peat).
• Temperature: ideally between 20–28 °C; does not tolerate cold.
• Humidity: prefers moderate to high humidity.
• Fertilization: use very diluted fertilizer, applied rarely.
